It's been awhile, so I decided to take some time to post one of my newer projects. Just for fun, I thought I'd show you the process.
This project was for an article on narrative tv shows which kill off characters for ratings (ala 24) to boost ratings. After a lot of brainstorming, I came to the idea of using the metaphor of the director as Ceasar at the Roman coliseum. Here's the rough sketch for that
After this John Hendrix suggested I lose the fat guy. I did. He was replaced with a lovable little pug.
We were fortuate enough to get to meet Yuko Shimizu during this crit. She suggested I lose the cameras and pug entirely. This made me sad. But she was right. In memorial here is the pug in all his glory.
This is the final image, color corrected to help the eyes. It was quite a process, but overall I was very happy with how it went. Special thanks to my teachers on this one!
